90's Astro Mix Tape
A playlist of 90s songs based off your chart! As a child of the 90s, I was listening to Hole and the Gits and The Frogs while scouring The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need and Sassy magazine, lighting incense matches in my room with baby barrettes in my hair. I was learning about astrology and music and how to interpret liner notes to find the bands that influenced bands I loved.
So. A mix of songs from the 90s awaits! This is totally up to my personal taste— I’m not a Smashing Pumpkins or Eminem fan so you won’t find any of that on here, but I do love Roxette and Kool Keith, so it will be influenced by what I want to share. This offering is definitely not too cool for school—Britney Spears might be on the same list with Sonic Youth. Such was the 90s.
We won’t know what goes on your playlist until I see your chart. You’re a double Cancer? Prepare for a lot of Courtney Love + Jack White + Lou Barlow. Oh, you have Venus in Aquarius? Get ready for some Meat Puppets and Sheryl Crow. It will be a weird mix, and it will be particular to your chart. The parameters are the songs must have been recorded between 1990 and 1999.
I thought about making physical mix tapes, but I don’t have the time I used to when I was a teen to sit by the cassette player swapping out tapes and making the perfect transitions.
